About Us

Built for students who shouldn't have to second-guess their grades.

We built this calculator so that converting CGPA to percentage takes three clicks — not three searches across a dozen contradictory blog posts.

Who we are

CGPA to Percentage Calculator is an independent online resource created by a small team of engineers and educators who got tired of seeing students struggle with a problem that should have been trivial. Every Indian university uses a slightly different formula. Every blog post explains it slightly wrong. Every "calculator" hides the formula behind a wall of ads and tracking.

So we built a better one. One that puts the formula on screen, supports the actual universities students attend, works on any device, and doesn't ask you to sign up for anything.

Our mission

To make academic grade conversion accurate, transparent, and accessible for every student in India and beyond — without paywalls, pop-ups, or guesswork. We believe that something this basic should be a free public utility, not a lead magnet.

What makes our tool different

Most calculators online use a single universal formula (CGPA × 9.5) regardless of which university you attend. That's fine for CBSE, but it gives the wrong answer for VTU, Anna University, Mumbai University, GTU, SPPU, MAKAUT, KTU, and many others — each of which uses its own conversion. Use the wrong number on a job application or an admissions form, and you could be misrepresenting your scores.

A

Accurate by university

Each major Indian university has its own formula. Our calculator applies the correct one based on your selection.

B

Transparent math

We show you the exact formula being used — no black boxes. You can verify the math yourself.

C

Private by design

Your CGPA values never leave your browser. We don't store, share, or sell anything.

D

Zero friction

No signup, no email, no captcha. Type your CGPA, get your percentage. That's it.

Our editorial standards

Every formula we publish comes from the official academic handbook of the respective university or from publicly available board resolutions. We do not invent formulas. Where universities update their conversion policy, we update ours.

Our content — explanations, FAQs, formula notes, and conversion tables — is written and reviewed by people with first-hand experience navigating Indian higher education. We don't auto-generate articles or copy from other sites.

How we sustain the site

This site is free to use and will stay that way. To cover the costs of hosting, development, and content updates, we display a small number of non-intrusive advertisements served via Google AdSense. These ads help keep the lights on without us having to charge students or sell user data. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
